Welcome to LD Photos: Photography in Central Indiana

Hi there! I'm Layla Durocher, a natural light portrait photographer located in Peru, Indiana. I've spent years behind a camera until April of 2023 I decided to take my passion into the realm of business. Over the last year I have grown so much not only as a photographer but also just as a person.

What My First Year Had to Offer

I first started my business by doing senior photos for my best friend, and now college roommate. Her faith in my was absolutely the push I needed to hit the

ground running in my business. We did a

variety of sessions that helped expand my portfolio very early on. We traveled around the Peru, Indiana area which allowed me to scout locations and plan ahead.

After working with Elizabeth on her senior pictures, I jumped right in by attending Peru High School's graduation and Ballet Arts of Peru's 51st dance recital, both in June of 2023. I spent hours editing both sets of photos, in total having around 1,000 images in a short period of time. This truly tested my work ethic and ability to work under pressure.

I did quite a few free shoots, mini sessions, and event photography just to get my name out into the world and around my community. Things began to change

when I headed back to Muncie in August for college. I was only able to come home for shoots on the weekend, and with Winter around the corner I was unsure on how that would impact my growth. I was so nervous that my photography would decline into nothing after spending a whole summer working on this business. Thankfully, I have the most wonderful friends who are always willing to see through my visions. When I need content for the holidays, I ALWAYS run to them. We've done Halloween, Christmas, New Years, and even did a fun galentines themed photoshoot. Their patience and willingness is so important to my growth and success in my business.

I was able to keep uploading posts in my social media pages even in the dry months. This let me continue to advertise and market myself and my business.

In Conclusion...

This first year has been absolutely amazing. I want to thank all of you for supporting me over the last year. I can't wait to see what the future holds.
